Anxiety (GAD, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder)

South Beach/Miami Beach Chapter

1815 Purdy Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139

Anxiety, stress, and panic attacks are my areas of specialty. My unique approach combines cognitive therapy tools with mindfulness and narrative coaching. I received MSW from New York University and I am a Board Certified Coach and a member of Harvard's Institute of Coaching and the International Coaching Federation.

I received my undergraduate degree in communications from Syracuse University and my masters degree in social work from New York University. I have 15-years of experience as a cognitive therapist. In addition, I am a board certified coach and a published member of the International Coaching Federation.

I focus on people rather than problems. I have always felt a deep sense of commitment to creating communities of support. When my hometown of Freeport, NY lost funding for waterfront cleanups, I founded a grassroots, volunteer-based non-profit. That was 29-years ago and today Operation SPLASH is still going strong.

As a founding board member of the Posse Foundation in Miami, Fl., I coached and mentored incredible scholars from diverse backgrounds. I have seen first hand that when individuals feel understood and supported by a scaffolding that we create together, they can excel and achieve their goals.

While traditional therapists look for a cluster of symptoms and diagnose pathology, I see strengths and maximize them. My greatest strength is my ability to help my clients feel more calm.

I practice what I teach and believe strongly in life/work balance. My 90-year-old father, a retired boat builder, taught me that a well-balanced boat will encounter less resistance and go further. In an effort to achieve this, I spend time with my family and friends, exercise and practice meditation.
